HDF Gas to Power Base Case
HDF SYSTEM PRODUCES HYDROGEN AND MULTIPLE PRODUCT GASES
The Hydrogen Designer Fuel (HDF) system utilizes Proteum Energy’s proprietary steam non-methane reformation (SnMR™) technology. It converts non-methane hydrocarbon feedstocks (such as ethanol or any NGL, particularly ethane) into low carbon-intensity hydrogen, hydrogen-rich designer fuels, and pipeline synthetic natural gas (SNG).
Modular Flexibility allows co-production of multiple fuel products
- Each system incorporates Proteum’s proprietary SnMR™ technology built around standardized heavy hydrocarbon reformers
- All non-methane hydrocarbons (including oxygenated) are possible feedstocks – e.g. ethanol, residue gas, NGL, ethane, propane, methanol
- Renewable feedstock, such as ethanol, can be used produce to ultra-low carbon renewable hydrogen, RNG and biogenic CO2
- Optional modules – CO2 separation, H2 separation, SNG reactor, methanol production, can be added to create products to serve multiple clean fuel markets
- Product gases are fuel cell hydrogen, pipeline synthetic natural gas, hydrogen-rich designer fuel, and carbon dioxide
- Decarbonizing applications include turbine fueling, natural gas pipeline H2 blending, and fuel cell quality H2 for transportation
- Hydrogen-rich designer fuels can be blended to specific targets: Wobbe index, Methane Number, energy density (Btu/cf)
- With CO2 sequestration, low-carbon intensity renewable or clean hydrogen is produced
- Core technology platform may be integrated with ethanol plant to utilize “wet” ethanol feedstock and integrated with waste heat recovery systems to improve efficiency
